May updates… and getting ready for Memorial Day Weekend Camp!

May has been good to us! So much drill is learned, new horns are coming in, the staff is working well together and we have filled almost all of our open spots. We do have one quad and one baritone spot open .. but we are working with a few potential members to fill those. If you have any interest send us an email at info@spartansdbc.org

Memorial Day weekend camp will be very exciting. We start adding Friday nights to our schedule and on Sunday, May 27th we will be at Lawrence Stadium for the day putting the show together. All of the hard work over the past few months really does start to pay off!!!!

In June, we have multiple concerts, parades and of course the DCI season starts. If you get a chance, please do not forget to come and support the corps on Saturday, June 23rd as we host our annual Summer Music Festival at Stello’s Stadium in Nashua NH. The gates will open at 5:40PM and the show starts with the Nashua Symphony Brass Choir at 6PM sharp. More details will be posted soon about this great event.

And as always .. if you can.. stop by the Mall and say hi! It has been great being back in our “practice home”!!

We are seeking a front ensemble player with some electronic and keyboard experience, we have two flag spots and one weapon spot open… as well as one tuba blank to fill. If you are interested please contact us at info@spartansdbc.org

Thank you to the teaching and support staff for a fantastic April camp. Our next practice weekend is May 5 and 6. Practice will begin at 9AM at the PLMall. The schedule will be as follows.. Saturday 9AM to 9:30PM .. sleep over at the Boys Club and then Sunday from 9AM to 4PM. Have a great week everyone and see you next weekend. Members please check your group pages for a detailed schedule of each weekends practice times and agendas.

April Camp Here We Go!!!!

The corps will be heading outside on Friday April 27 thru April 29th. Camp starts at 6PM at the Pheasant Lane Mall. We will spend the weekend at the Mall and Boys Club. Friday night practice is from 6PM to 10PM. Saturday we are busy from 9AM to 10PM and on Sunday we will practice from 9AM to 4PM. Things to remember: All meals provided and check the weather. Dot books and a pen or pencil are needed. Don’t forget chalk for your dots. Sleeping bag and all sleep over gear. Water Jugs, medicines and of course.. a very open and excited mind to learn lots of drill and make the show come to life. We do have a tuba spot that is still open and one rack spot in the front ensemble with potential electronic synth parts. Lets make it a great April Camp!

Preparing for April 22nd.. Welcome back Spartans Guard!!!!

On Sunday, April 22nd the full corps will finally be together to start working on our show. Guard members who are attending on Sunday please remember to have all your paperwork with you. If you do not have paperwork yet, we will meet with you when you all arrive to go over all of that information. Sunday will also be uniform fitting day. Practice is at the Nashua Boys and Girls Club.

Practice for the full corps starts at 9AM from this point on every Saturday and Sunday. Please make sure you adjust your schedules to reflect this start time change.

Information on April Visual Camp will be posted in a few days. We look forward to seeing many of you this Sunday and wish the best of luck to all of our members who are attending the 2012 WGI Percussion Championships this weekend.
