FAQ’s and early season….

There have been some frequently asked questions so lets see if we can help:

1) Applications and Medical Forms?  Yes these are mandatory.  Every person in the corps will receive an application packet. There is a $50.00 application fee that must be submitted with the application.  If you are 18 or over you can do this yourself. If not, you need a parent or guardian to sign.

2) When do I pay the $50.00?  You can pay at the open house or your first practice session. This will officially make you a member of the corps, get you your brass or percussion technique book, access to the members only section on the web. If you are a guard member..  access to the guard staff over the winter season and a member of our winter Facebook group.

3) Spartan wear, when do I get it and how?  Spartan wear is something that you order on your own via Reb Brick Clothing on our web site.  However, when you pay your $50.00 application fee and have a completed medical form you will receive mid winter.. a Spartan t-shirt and pair of shorts as part of your $50.00 fee.

4) What do I do as a returning member?  You simply need to return a completed application and medical form.  Returning members do not pay the $50.00 application fee.  Of course attendance and setting a great example for new members is also part of your job as a returning Spartan.

5) What if I do not pay my $50.00 and do not hand in my medical and application form?  Honestly, that is not good news. You are not in good standing with the corps and will not be able to practice with the organization until those commitments are fulfilled.  Respect, Responsibility and Commitment are what we are all about!  Start understanding that early on.

6) So should I come to the open house prepared to fill out forms and pay my fee?  If you want to start early, get all your information quicker and guarantee yourself full communication with staff and administration.  We would strongly suggest you come prepared.  But, if you are not ready to make that commitment yet that is ok as well.  But the next practice you attend.. you will need to have all of your forms and fees up to date.

7) If I can not make the open house what do I do?  That is easy.  We know everyone is busy.  Just come to one of our December practice sessions and we will introduce you to the world of being a Spartan!  Our doors are always open to new members.

8 ) Do I bring my family with me to the open house?  OH YES!!!!  We need your family to support you and become a part of our volunteer team.  The more the merrier..  please do invite your family to your first practice session or the Open House.  There will be a parent meeting at the Open House around 10:30AM.

Good luck and thank you for the questions you have been asking!

  1. I’m not sure if I can get a ride to the open house tomorrow, but if I can, is that where auditions are held? And is there an age limit for corps?
